O novo técnico da Seleção Brasileira, Carlo Ancelotti, divulgou nesta segunda-feira (26) sua primeira lista de convocados para os próximos jogos das Eliminatórias Sul-Americanas para a Copa do Mundo. No total, 23 jogadores foram chamados para os confrontos contra Equador e Paraguai.
A Seleção Brasileira enfrenta o Equador no dia 5 de junho, às 20h (horário de Brasília), no Estádio Monumental Isidro Romero Carbo, em Guayaquil. Cinco dias depois, o Brasil recebe o Paraguai, às 21h45, na Neo Química Arena, em São Paulo.
Carlo Ancelotti foi oficializado como técnico da Seleção em 12 de maio pelo então presidente da CBF, Ednaldo Rodrigues, que foi posteriormente destituído do cargo. Samir Xaud, candidato único nas últimas eleições, foi eleito o novo presidente da entidade, com mandato até 2029.
Atualmente, a Seleção Brasileira ocupa a quarta posição nas Eliminatórias com 21 pontos. O Equador, primeiro adversário na próxima Data Fifa, é o vice-líder, com 23 pontos. O Paraguai, que também soma 21 pontos, está uma posição abaixo do Brasil nos critérios de desempate.
